New experiences and adventures

When I started this journey, I did not know what I was getting into. Many challenges to face but I knew I wanted to try something new and different outside of my regular career.

I have spent 20 plus years as a mechanic and done well for myself. Always learning and advancing. I work half a year and have time for other things. I figured it was time to try something new. I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, to have something that I could call my own. It would be awesome if I could build a brand that I would be proud of.

So I did some research, looked around for something that was appealing to me to direct some energy into. I came across a website for sale that had peaked my interest. So I took the plunge and bought it. I loved the layout and design. As I started to get set up I ran into issues. I did not like the overseas suppliers or the quality of the products or even the shipping costs or times.

So I made changes, I prefer to support Canadian and American economies. In doing so, I found suppliers in North America and even Europe that offer higher quality, better shipping and access. I have a decent product list now and continue to add quality products.

I added social media into the mix, started advertising to get traffic. While it is helping drive traffic, I am still not seeing the results I would like. I gotta keep tweaking and working at it. I even started doing reels which I have never done before. Writing a blog is also new for me, this is the first one.

When I started this, I knew it would take time and hard work. I did not expect overnight success. I do have a lot to learn. But I like the challenge. Making mistakes and failing is part of it, but so is learning from it.

I take pride that I started something I believe in. I do have a sense of ownership and that fuels my dreams and goals. Going forward I believe it will get easier and better. While it is not making me rich, my goal is to at least hit a target I have set for myself.

Tune in for more.
